The race for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts has taken a turn toward the absurd. The contest pits two highly qualified candidates Scott Brown, the incumbent, who made history by snatching Ted Kennedys seat away from the Democrats, and challenger Elizabeth Warren, the Harvard Law professor and whiz-kid of the Obama administration who created the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. If any election could be counted on to maintain a high-minded tone and stick to important issues, its this one. Instead, Topic A is Warrens facial features. From a campaign standpoint, Warren hasnt done much to end this silly brouhaha. She...

She obviously figures she owes her success to her ability to manipulate the victimization of America's First Nation People to secure a teaching position at Harvard; since, according to Ms Warren, no one achieves success on their own. I hear all this, you know, Well, this is class warfare, this is whatever. No. There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own nobody. You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired...

Many critics have called Massachusetts Senate hopeful Elizabeth Warren a "racist" for relating a family story about how her grandfather had "high cheekbones like all Indians do." But they're wrong. The comment wasn't "racist." It was stupid. In fact, it was childishly stupid. Really, it reminds one of the copout Bill Clinton disgorged when addressing his marijuana use: "I tried it, but I didn't inhale." And it should come as no surprise, either leftists are childish. As for the "racism" charge, many conservatives take that leaf out of the left's book because, they figure, turnabout is fair play. If...

SALEM The hoopla surrounding one of the most closely followed U.S. Senate races in the country came to Salem yesterday, as Democratic candidate Elizabeth Warren swept into Salem State University's Marsh Hall amid a flurry of flashbulbs, handshakes and a hug from Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll. Warren is locked in a tight race against incumbent Republican Sen. Scott Brown, and the two are raising and spending money at a furious pace, while each crisscrosses the state seeking support. Warren, Driscoll, state Rep. John Keenan and University President Patricia Meservey bantered lightly before Warren ventured off to shake hands with...

Elizabeth Warren fumbled through her worst stretch as a Senate candidate this week, setting off a debate among strategists over whether the controversy over her claims to Native American ancestry would linger when the November election is closer. The Warren campaign will not say when top advisers learned that she considered herself part-Native American, but it was an element of her biography that seemed to catch them off guard. When news emerged last Friday that Harvard Law School had publicly touted Warren as a Native American professor in the Harvard Crimson in the 1990s, Warren advisers saw it as a...
